Rugby World Cup The rugby World Cup kicked off with a ceremony in Twickenham. There are four groups. Pool 1 was called the group of death. New Zealand had the easiest group in the tournament. The tournament kicked off with England vs Fiji, England won 35-11. The next game was England vs Wales. WALES WON!! Unfortunately England got knocked out of their own World Cup (HA HA HA) and they were the first team host the world cup and get knocked out. The weekend after the ceremony Japan vs South Africa. It must be the game of the tournament. They beat South Africa 32-34. On the news, all of the Japan fans were crying. The whole of the world was shocked by the defeat against South Africa. The two teams in each group who have qualified are playing on the weekend of the 17th and 18th. The teams that have made it through to the next round are Australia and Wales in group 1; South Africa and Scotland in group 2; New Zealand and Argentina in group 3. Finally the last group which is Ireland and France. The World Cup has a lot more to come. Cymru am byth. Lewis and Calum. The pupils have been using J2e to write their own news reports on the Wales against Australia match. Read an example below. In class we are reading the book 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. Without any spoiler alerts it is about a boy who did a crime and got sent to Camp Green Lake where he dug a hole each day in the scorching sun to build his character. Our personal opinion on this book is: The way Louis Sachar describes the characters is immaculate and fantastic. He describes them in such a way you can see the characters. Our rating for holes is 4.5/5 so far... |
