Since September we have been reading the novel Holes which was amazing. We finished it this week and watched the film. The film was even better than I thought as I actually got to see the characters. Zero is my favourite as he is smarter than everyone thinks but he hides it. Stanley, the protagonist, is sent to Camp Green Lake for something he didn't do. The story is about how fate can bring anyone together in the end. I would give the book 5 stars and the film 4.5 stars.

This morning a woman from XL Wales came to Clydach Primary school and taught us about programming robots. First she told us what robots are and then we discussed how we use robots in our lives. After a while we went and had a tester on how to make our robot go forward back and turn around in different speeds. Then we went on a mat which had roads and buildings all over it. We had to programme the robot and make it ride on the roads without it going onto the grass and buildings. Eventually we finished on the computer and tried it out. It took us a while to adjust it but it worked in the end. We all managed to stay on the roads apart from Lewis's group that went on the grass and buildings. We had a great day when XL Wales came into school and we all enjoyed working with robots and computers. Hopefully XL Wales will come back soon. |
